In 1986 Simon Walker scored Mark Twain's "Tom Sawyer" and then the following year wrote music for James Fenimore Cooper's "The Last of the Mohicans" (1987).

For both these films he was given the opportunity to write in the style of some of the most famous Hollywood composers and film genres. Tributes to John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith and Elmer Bernstein, amongst others, can be heard in these two beautiful Americana scores.

After the serious requirements of so many dramas and earnest documentaries, the chance to be larger than life was too much to resist for the composer, recalling many of these wonderful composers' favoured moods and styles.

The cues have been edited into a flowing group of 12 tracks for "The Last of the Mohicans", and a suite of 3 tracks for "Tom Sawyer".
